China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (CDB Leasing) won the “2023 Green Finance High-Quality Development Excellent Case” Green Financial Product Innovation Award for its first blue economy-themed US dollar financing in Shenzhen on November 28, 2023.The award was given at the forum celebrating the third anniversary of the implementation of Regulations of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on Green Finance and Green Finance 2023 Forum hosted by Shenzhen’s financial regulatory authority.
In January 2023, CDB Leasing successfully secured the first blue economy-themed US dollar financing in the financial leasing industry, amounting to USD260 million.As certified and evaluated by Lianhe Equator Environmental Impact Assessment Co., Ltd., it is also the industry’s first financing of this kind that has met multiple certification standards including the Guidelines for Blue Finance, the Green Loan Principles, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.The award conferred by panelists form the Shenzhen Gree Finance Association reflects unanimous recognition from governmental officials in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,industrial leaders, and experts from the National Financial Regulatory Administration, demonstrating that CDB Leasing’s efforts in supporting the marine economy and engaging in economic activities in a sustainable manner have been well received by the city.
