At the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, China planned to deepen the reform of the financial system and decided to actively develop technology finance, green finance, inclusive finance, pension finance, and digital finance. CDB Leasing, which has long been committed to serving the real economy and facilitating the development of SMEs, continues to keep up with market demand to launch innovative leasing products in the field of urban logistics New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). Such products can not only alleviate the financial stress for the end-use enterprises and drivers, but also help implement the national strategy of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, facilitate energy conservation and emission reduction, and promote the full use of electric vehicles in the public sector.

As end-users of urban logistics distribution vehicles involve myriads of small and medium-sized logistics companies, leasing companies, and individual drivers, logistics vehicles are the important means of production for clients in inclusive finance to operate daily. For one thing, leasing makes access to vehicles easier; for another, leasing can ease the burden of repayments of end-users.

Through strategic cooperation with DST Vehicle Rental (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a leading logistics NEV service provider, CDB Leasing has rolled out operational leasing products beyond the conventional financial leasing business. Such technical means as IoT can help reinforce the control of leased vehicles whose status can be monitored in real-time via systems. Since the beginning of 2022, CDB Leasing has put into circulation a cumulative total of more than 11,200 new energy vehicles for urban logistics distribution, providing services to over 500 end-side companies and 10,000 drivers in total. Currently, the fleets cover a broad range of vehicles from light trucks and small trucks to small, medium, and big-sized vans, thus meeting varied clients’ needs under different scenarios. Such operations have found a presence in major first- and second-tier Chinese cities, and have contributed greatly to spreading the use of EVs for logistics distribution in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with Shenzhen occupying a proportion of more than 23%.

Known as a leading provider of digital and intelligent operation services for logistics NEVs, since its inception in 2015, DST has put into operation more than 130,000 electric logistics vehicles across the country, covering over 200 cities and benefiting more than 6,000 companies and 400,000 drivers. The company has built 1.3 million charging piles and participated in the construction of over 20 demonstration cities for green cargo transport and high-efficiency distribution in urban and rural areas.

Looking ahead, CDB Leasing will constantly deepen its cooperation with DST and work hard on the leasing of NEVs for urban logistics distribution. While pursuing steady development, the Company will pivot more towards small-town and rural markets over time, proactively implement policies for bolstering the development of medium-sized, small, and micro businesses, continuously improve products and solutions to cater to client needs in a targeted manner, and strive to facilitate the sound development of SMEs and the full-scale electrification of logistics vehicles in an effort to contribute its share to developing inclusive finance and green finance.
